Cyprus’ drawn-out saga to gasify its powergen sector appears to be entering the final stretch. The 137,000m³ ‘Etyfa Prometheas’ FSRU is near to delivery, whilst Energy Minister George Papanastasiou says work on the receiving terminal at Vasilikos should be complete by end-2024.
The FSRU remains anchored at the Shanghai shipyard of China’s Cosco. But, with only final certification outstanding, Mr Papanastasiou says “we have been assured that the ship will receive certification and set sail soon,” arriving in Cyprus in June. (CONTINUED - 1146 WORDS)
