The partners at Israel’s Leviathan gas field (Chevron 39.66%op, NewMed 49.34%, Ratio Energies 15%) on 23 May agreed to sell 0.5bcm/y (48mn cfd) of gas to the 1.68GW Eshkol power plant at Ashdod over seven and a half years from mid-2024 to 31 December 2031.
The total contractual quantity of 3.75bcm (0.13tcf) equates to 0.6% of Leviathan’s original 2P reserves of 22.9tcf of which 21.5tcf remained to be developed as of end-2023 (MEES, 15 March). (CONTINUED - 360 WORDS)
