Abu Dhabi-listed Dana Gas on 3 May said that production at Iraqi Kurdistan’s 500mn cfd Khor Mor gas field had been “restored to normal levels” following a complete halt in the aftermath of a 26 April drone strike which killed four Yemeni contractors. Operations initially recommenced on 1 May. The field has been singled out for multiple attacks in recent years, with the lead suspects being Iran-backed Iraqi militias. But this is the first such attack to cause fatalities. It is also the first to cause such a lengthy shutdown. The attack received condemnation internationally and by both the central and regional governments.
This was the second attack to halt operations, following a strike in January which struck a liquids storage tank, forcing production to be halted for a day (MEES, 2 February). (CONTINUED - 824 WORDS)
