Iraq’s cabinet on 30 April approved the award of a tender to operate some 890MW of industrial-sized diesel generators to Abu Dhabi-based Dasoff Petroleum Services. The firm, a subsidiary of India’s Das Offshore, will operate the Electricity Ministry’s units for five years at a fixed $13.5/MWh tariff, with payment contingent on delivery of at least 750MW under “Take and Pay” conditions.
The contract covers 168 of 4MW MAN 18V28/32S units at the North Diwaniya, East Karbala and North Amara clusters, for a total capacity of 672MW as well as twenty-eight 7.8MW Nigata 16V34HLX units totaling 218MW at East Diwaniya. (CONTINUED - 165 WORDS)
