Maire’s Tecnimont subsidiary has been given notice to proceed with construction of Abu Dhabi’s 1mn t/y low-carbon ammonia plant at Ruwais. The project is being developed at the under-construction Ta’ziz chemicals plant by the Ta’ziz joint venture of Adnoc and fellow state firm ADQ, Fertiglobe, Mitsui,and GS Energy.
In a 28 May announcement, Fertiglobe says that the partners have awarded Tecnimont a contract to commence construction of the project, after previously awarding the firm the EPC contract in July 2022. Construction is due to begin in Q3, with operations commencing in 2027, representing a further delay from the original target of 2025. (CONTINUED - 730 WORDS)
