The Faihaa oilfield on Iraq’s Block 9 is poised to reach 100,000 b/d output next month according to Mohammed Taher, who represents state firm Basrah Oil Co at the field which is operated by Hong Kong-listed independent UEG.

Speaking to local radio al-Mirbad on 7 July, he pegs current production at 80,000 b/d, just above the 75,000 b/d end-April figure reported by UEG following start-up of a 100,000 b/d central processing facility with 43 wells now producing (MEES, 3 May). (CONTINUED - 208 WORDS)
