Almost two years after kicking-off its first offshore drilling campaign in decades, Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) has announced the “commercial” Nokhetha discovery. Initial resource estimates for the 96km2 field, based on results from the NO-0001 (also known as Nokhetha-1) well, point to 2.1bn barrels of light oil and some 5.1tcf of associated gas for a total of 3.2bn barrels of oil equivalent, KOC says.
