Amid scorching temperatures across the Mena region, Algeria and Kuwait this week joined Egypt (MEES, 19 July) in setting new peak load records.
Algeria set a new power demand record of 19.019GW on 17 July, according to state power firm Sonelgaz, the third record in four days after 18.756GW on 15 July and 18.732GW on 14 July. The previous high was 18.697GW set on 23 July 2023. (CONTINUED - 618 WORDS)
