Eni is drilling its shallow-water Maamoura permit in Tunisia’s Gulf of Hammamet having contracted the Shelf Drilling Resourceful jackup rig for July-October 2024. Combined output from Maamoura and a second nearby Eni permit, Baraka, was 6mn cfd for 2023 but slumped to just 2mn cfd for 1H 2024, whilst oil output has halted completely since early 2023.
Tunisia’s overall gas output was down 28% at just 130mn cfd for 1H 2024 putting this year on track for the lowest figure since 2007. Crude output was down 13% at 29,600 b/d, on track for a multi-decade low. (CONTINUED - 207 WORDS)
