Abu Dhabi state offtaker Ewec has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the Development of the Madinat Zayed Independent Power Producer (IPP). The 1.5GW open cycle gas turbine (OCGT) plant will be developed around 120km southwest of Abu Dhabi city and is planned to begin commercial operations in 3Q 2027.
The 29 July RFP comes a week after Ewec issued an RFP for the 2.5GW Taweelah-C combined cycle (CCGT) plant, which is due online in 3Q 2028 (MEES, 26 July). (CONTINUED - 287 WORDS)
