The first of Qatar’s new 7.8mn t/y LNG liquefaction trains under its North Field expansion project is more than 50% complete and “first systems are energized,” France’s Technip Energies says in its 1H results on 1 August.
The French contractor is developing the four trains that form the North Field East (NFE) expansion in a joint venture with Japan’s Chiyoda (MEES, 12 February 2021), and two trains for the North Field South (NFS) expansion in a joint venture with Consolidated Contractors Company (19 May 2023).
