Oman LNG exported a record 6.1mn tons of LNG over the first half of the year, up 11% from 5.51mn tons for 1H 2023.
South Korea remained clear number one customer, despite its import volumes falling by 14% for 2023’s record 1H levels to 2.33mn tons for 1H 2024. Number two Japan saw volumes surge 50% to 1.61mn tons to close the gap, whilst India saw volumes near triple to 840,000 tons (MEES, 23 August) to overtake China for number three spot despite the latter posting 62% gains at 740,000 tons.
