Buoyed by record revenues last quarter, Adnoc Drilling is preparing to grow its footprint internationally having been pre-qualified by Kuwait Oil Company (KOC). The firm is now included in KOC’s approved contractors list for the provision of drilling, rig and ancillary services. Like Abu Dhabi, Kuwait has big upstream expansion plans and there are lucrative opportunities there.

Kuwait would mark the second overseas country in which Adnoc Drilling operates, having begun drilling operations in Jordan in Q4 last year. In July, the firm received an extension to its contract there and will remain in Jordan until at least the end of 2024. It is also seeking to be pre-qualified for work in Oman (MEES, 24 May).
