UAE-based Dana Gas confirmed in a 3 February filing to the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange that its 500mn cfd-capacity Khor Mor gas field in Iraqi Kurdistan was targeted by a drone on 2 February. There were “no injuries to people and no impact on production facilities” with operations continuing normally, Dana says. This month’s attack follows last month’s finalization of a Federal government contract with Crescent Petroleum to supply 100mn cfd from Khor Mor to nearby Kirkuk province (MEES, 10 January).
Khor Mor, which Dana operates with compatriot firm Crescent Petroleum (each 35%) on behalf of the Pearl Consortium (remaining shareholders: OMV 10%, Mol 10%, RWE 10%), has been the target of repeated attacks linked to Iran-backed Shia militias over the past two years, significantly delaying the KM250 expansion project to boost capacity to 750mn cfd.
