Iraq resumed exports of crude oil to Jordan last week, according to a spokesman of the ‘Amman-based consortium Dhiabat and Zoubi, which won the contract in August to transport the Iraqi crude overland by tanker truck from Baiji in Iraq to Jordan’s 100,000 b/d refinery at Zarqa.
The flow of Iraqi crude was interrupted in August while the Jordanian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources was changing the company which transports the crude to Jordan. Jordan receives this crude under an agreement reached in June 2011 to import up to 15,000 b/d at preferential prices. This represented an increase of 5,000 b/d from the previous agreement between the two countries of September 2008 for the import of around 10,000 b/d of Iraqi crude. (CONTINUED - 355 WORDS)
