State-run National Iranian Tanker Company (NITC) has dismissed its head Hamid Behbahani, only 14 months after he was appointed, semi-official Mehr news agency reported this week. This move comes just days after the US Treasury Department exposed a covert shipping scheme involved in helping Iran go around international sanctions.
“Hamid Behbahani was dismissed as managing director of the NITC. As per a decision made by the managing board of the company, Ali Akbar Safei has replaced Hamid Behbahani,” Mehr said on 18 March. (CONTINUED - 356 WORDS)
