Saudi refineries throughput fell by 4.5% in 2013, with only the largest – Saudi Aramco’s 550,000 b/d Ras Tanura plant – increasing production (see table, p10).
Some of the decrease can be attributed to changing market conditions. Aramco’s 2013 Annual Review says domestic refined products sales rose to 620.438mn barrels (1.70mn b/d) last year from 588.4mn barrels (1.61mn b/d) in 2012. However, refined products exports declined to 121mn barrels (332,000 b/d) in 2013 from 126mn barrels (344,000 b/d) in 2012. (CONTINUED - 327 WORDS)
