As Dubai raises its long-term target for solar power, three UAE electricity authorities are now developing solar projects and policies. The UAE is also increasingly deploying its solar expertise around the world.
Two UAE electricity authorities have announced plans for new solar projects with a combined capacity of 900MW. Combined with 300MW of solar capacity already under development, this boosts the solar power contribution to the emirates’ power projects pipeline to 11.4% (see table and chart).
