Dubai utility Dewa has signed a power purchase agreement with Abu Dhabi state renewables firm Masdar for an 800MW solar PV plant that will comprise the third phase of a 5GW solar park under development 50km south of Dubai city at Seih al-Dalal.
Masdar and Spanish partners Fotowatio and Gransolar won the bid with a record low levelized power cost for solar PV project: US¢2.99/kWh. The plant will be developed for 2020 start-up as an independent power producer (IPP) scheme (MEES, 1 July). (CONTINUED - 294 WORDS)
