Morocco’s king has inaugurated the first of three large concentrated solar power (CSP) plants, under development at Ouarzazate at the edge of the Sahara in the country’s south. The Noor 1 plant has generating capacity of 160MW.
The plant was developed by Saudi private firm Acwa and built under a turnkey contract by Spanish solar companies Sener, Acciona and TSK. TSK says commercial operation has started, but it is not clear whether full capacity has been achieved. (CONTINUED - 340 WORDS)
