Bahrain’s virgin LNG import project is making key progress towards hitting its 1Q 2019 start-up target.
Bermuda-registered Teekay LNG, the key foreign partner in the JV building a 5.9mn t/y (800mn cfd) LNG import terminal in Bahrain, says that it will take delivery of the ‘Bahrain Spirit’ floating LNG storage unit (FSU) from Korea’s Daewoo later this month. Work on the import terminal is meanwhile, “over 90% complete” with “commercial start-up expected in March 2019.” This is in line with the 1Q 2019 start-up target with project go-ahead given in late 2016 (MEES, 16 December 2016).
