Gas accounted for a record share of Saudi Arabia’s power generation (including desalination and cogeneration) last year. While this figure may slip for 2019 as a whole, the planned imminent startup of a major new gas processing plant should mean further gains for 2020.
As of end-2018, gas processing capacity in the kingdom totaled 15.5bn cfd. Wellhead production averaged around 12.5bn cfd last year and this generated 8.86bn cfd of sales gas and 0.99bn cfd of ethane. (CONTINUED - 1023 WORDS)
