Saudi Aramco has awarded US firm KBR a contract for a solvent deasphalter to be installed at its 126,000 b/d Riyadh refinery.
Deasphalters use light hydrocarbon solvents produced within a refinery to recover deasphalted oil (DAO) from residue. The DAO can then be processed at upgrading units within the refinery to increase output of lighter distillates. (CONTINUED - 246 WORDS)
