Key members of the Opec+ alliance are gearing up to meet in the Saudi city of Jeddah on 19 May. Discussions at the newly expanded Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee (MEES, 22 March) meeting will focus on how the Opec+ strategy ought to adapt in the wake of the US ending import waivers for Iranian crude from this month (MEES, 26 April).
The meeting is also taking place amid growing regional tensions, with attacks targeting Saudi and Emirati crude oil export routes this week (MEES, 17 May). Oil prices have crept higher this week, although remain broadly flat. (CONTINUED - 946 WORDS)
