Having entered 2019 with its 300,000 b/d El Sharara fields forcibly shut-in, Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC) knew it was in for yet another challenging year.
And 2019 didn’t disappoint. On 4 April, de facto ruler of eastern Libya General Khalifa Haftar launched an attack on the capital Tripoli in an attempt to wrestle it from the internationally-recognized Government of National Accord.
