Saudi Aramco this week announced a world’s first shipment of ‘blue ammonia’ to Japan. Forty tons of ammonia was produced from hydrogen created from hydrocarbons with the associated CO₂ output captured and utilized in Saudi facilities.
Saudi Aramco confirms that the cargo was a “one-off test shipment,” which evidently served as a proof-of-concept. The development of additional infrastructure will be needed to make the process more economically viable. (CONTINUED - 1072 WORDS)
