Israel’s Energy Ministry has ordered output from the country’s key Leviathan gas field should be capped at 720mn cfd, 60% of 1.2bn cfd capacity, due to a pipeline malfunction.
“The malfunction was discovered during the commissioning period of the natural gas production project of the Leviathan well, on those sections of the transmission line that are located close to the field’s production wells (the jumpers), where vibrations were discovered by a subsea robot that was lowered to sea depth,” the ministry statement says.
