Electricity generators in the Middle East and North Africa added 4.097GW or 12% to their total renewable energy capacity last year, taking Mena renewables capacity to 37.01GW at the end of 2019.
Solar and wind saw the largest additions in percentage terms, of 59% and 11% respectively, according to the Renewable Capacity Statistics 2020 publication of Abu Dhabi-based International Renewable Energy Agency (Irena).
