BP on 20 May appointed its Egypt Country Manager, Karim Alaa as the firm’s new North Africa Senior Vice President, replacing Hesham Mekawi when he retires at the end of June.
Mr Alaa has been with BP since 2006, mostly in his native Egypt, but also at the major’s London HQ. Mr Mekawi, also an Egyptian, will remain as a senior advisor until the end of the year. In addition to Egypt, BP also has significant assets in Algeria and a swathe of on-ice exploration acreage in Libya. (CONTINUED - 248 WORDS)
