Kuwait state firm Kufpec (40%) and local partner Cheiron (60%op) have firmed up their 2019 Nukhul discovery on the Geisum & Tawila West concession in the shallow (10-65ms) southern waters of Egypt’s Gulf of Suez.
The latest GNN-4 appraisal well tested at over 2,000 b/d, and has been put on production, Cheiron and Kufpec announced on 18 June. Coming on the back of last July’s discovery well “which encountered almost 500 feet [150 metres] of good quality net oil pay” total reserves are estimated at 260mn barrels. Of this the partners reckon 70mn barrels will be recoverable, suggesting potential output of 10-15,000 b/d. (CONTINUED - 303 WORDS)
