The Petro Rabigh refining and petrochemicals joint venture of Saudi Aramco and Japan’s Sumitomo added clean fuels units during the scheduled shutdown of its 400,000 b/d refinery and 4.97mn t/y petchems complex at Rabigh on the Saudi Red Sea coast. The complex was shut for the whole of March and April (MEES, 6 March).
Work completed during the shutdown included integration of a clean fuels project (CFP) and sulfur recovery unit (SRU) built by Italy’s Maire Tecnimont under an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract awarded in July 2016. (CONTINUED - 226 WORDS)
