Electricity generation statistics are beginning to show the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on Qatar. Whereas powergen stats began 2020 well above previous monthly records, there was evidence of a slowdown in March, and in April the amount generated was down year-on-year (see chart 1).
This brought to an end a run of monthly powergen records that began in March 2019 and peaked at 5.65TWh last August. April 2020’s 3.43TWh of generated electricity was 0.7% down on 3.45TWh for April 2019. (CONTINUED - 477 WORDS)
