A fourth LPG train at Algeria’s Zcina plant, north of the Hassi Messaoud oil hub, has been pushed back by at least nine months to March 2022, according to Italian contractor Maire Tecnimont in its first half report released this week.
On completion, the $248mn project will boost Zcina’s gas processing capacity by 8mn m³/d (280mn cfd) (MEES, 6 March). While the delay is certainly a setback, the good news is that since Tecnimont’s 2019 annual report, released 11 March, work has been steadily advancing. The Italian firm now reports engineering progress is at 91%, procurement 62% and construction 5%. (CONTINUED - 171 WORDS)
