Imports to the core LNG consumption region of East Asia have been running at record levels with December seeing all-time record LNG imports by China and for Northeast Asia as a whole, figures from data intelligence firm Kpler show.
Overall imports by the four key regional importers Japan, China, South Korea and Taiwan, totaled 22.4mn tons in December, more than 2mn tons higher than the previous record set in January 2019 (see chart 1). (CONTINUED - 1245 WORDS)
