Norway’s TGS is shooting 7,500km of 2D seismic off Mauritania using the BGP Pioneer with the aim of firming up oil targets in a basin to date seen as gas prone.
TGS says the work is “supported by industry funding” and is being undertaken with “the full support of the Mauritanian Ministry of Hydrocarbons” and will last 60 days, implying a mid-November end date. “Fast-track data” will be “available three months after acquisition.
