Nicosia has granted the partners at Cyprus’ 4.1tcf Aphrodite gas field a 12-month extension to November 2022 to drill an appraisal well which they agreed to as part of a November 2019 restructuring of the field’s production sharing contract (MEES, 8 November 2019).
US major Chevron operates Aphrodite (35%) alongside Shell (35%) and Israel’s Delek Drilling (30%). The ‘A-3’ well would be the field’s second appraisal well and third overall.
