Kosmos says the 2.5mn t/y Phase-1 development of the Tortue FLNG project on the Mauritania/Senegal maritime border “remains on track for first gas in the first half of 2023.” This follows a 12-month delay early last year (MEES, 20 March 2020).
As of end-2020 the project was 50% complete, Kosmos says, giving respective figures of 40% for subsea infrastructure (four 200mn cfd wells), 58% for the FPSO, 63% for the FLNG vessel and 45% for the near-shore breakwater. With “all key workstreams back to pre-Covid 19 productivity,” Kosmos expects work to be “~80% complete at year end 2021.” “The fabrication of the subsea equipment is expected to be complete by year-end with the manifolds and flow lines installed by early 2022… 2021 is the year of significant delivery for Tortue,” CEO Andy Inglis says.
