Iranian President Hassan Rouhani says that Iran’s new crude oil export terminal outside the Strait of Hormuz could be operational within a matter of weeks. Mr Rouhani says that construction of the 1,100km Goureh-Jask crude oil pipeline linking the new terminal at Kuh-e Mubarak just outside Jask to Iran’s oil fields is nearing completion. Iran also recently stated that the first of three single point mooring (SPM) buoys was being installed offshore.
In February, Iran said that the first four 500,000-barrel capacity storage tanks at the under-construction Jask oil export terminal will be brought online by June this year, and Mr Rouhani’s statement indicates that this is an achievable target (MEES, 5 February). (CONTINUED - 244 WORDS)
