High level talks between Anglo-Dutch major Shell and Malaysian state firm Petronas have led to a decision to can subsequent development phases of their 50:50 West Delta Deep Marine (WDDM) project offshore Egypt.
This follows a request in February from Egypt’s oil minister Tarek El Molla that the two companies attempt to thrash out their differences: Shell had been keen to proceed with Phase-10, while Petronas was set against sanctioning the next development phase (MEES, 19 February).
