Speaking this week at Bloomberg’s Qatar Economic Forum, Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani emphasized the critical nature of the emirate’s abundant gas reserves for its economic health: “We are a natural gas exporting country.” In a nod to the energy transition, the Emir emphasized that gas “is a low-carbon energy source,” and one which can therefore be used to decarbonise coal-reliant economies.
