*Qatar last year came close to losing top supplier spot in global number three LNG market Korea. But from a nine-year low market share of 22.4% for 1H 2020 (MEES, 17 July), with Australia just behind on 20.0%, Qatar saw volumes rise 27% year on year for 1H 2021 to boost the emirate’s market share to 26.4% and its lead over Australia to almost 2mn tons: 6.06mn tons for Qatar versus 4.15mn tons for Australia (see chart and table).
