Chevron has booked the ‘Stena Forth’ drillship to drill a fifth production well at Israel’s key 22.7tcf Leviathan field.
Drilling and tying back the ‘Leviathan-8’ well to the Leviathan platform will take around four months in the second half of 2022 at a total cost of $248mn, 45.34% Leviathan partner Delek Drilling says in a 13 July update. The well will be drilled 130km offshore in 1,620 meters of water, targeting the Oligo-Miocene formation to a total depth of 5,300 meters below the sea bed. (CONTINUED - 221 WORDS)
