Iran’s outgoing President Hassan Rouhani could not leave office without delivering – even if partially – on a major infrastructure promise of his government. On 22 July, he inaugurated the Islamic Republic’s first oil export terminal on the Indian ocean.
The new $2bn Bandar-e Jask export terminal is located in Hormozgan province at the end of a 1,100km 42-inch pipeline that brings oil from Goureh in the Bushehr province to Kuh-e Mubarak on the Gulf of Oman (see map).
