Algerian state oil firm Sonatrach this week announced delays to two key gas projects being carried out by UK-engineering firm Petrofac in the Illizi Basin which combined are set to add more than 5bcm/y.
Sonatrach’s 1.8bcm/y Tinhert phase-1 expansion at the aging Ohanet field was supposed to be completed by the second half of 2021, according to the $500mn contract’s original work schedule (MEES, 31 August 2018). But with progress on the project still at only 88%, completion has been pushed back to the second quarter of 2022. Tinhert phase-1 seeks to bring Ohanet production up to 4.8bcm/y at plateau and also add some 750 tons/d of condensate and 450 tons/d of LPG. (CONTINUED - 211 WORDS)
