American technology solutions provider Honeywell announced on 10 January that its subsidiary UOP will be providing modular “naphtha hydrotreating and fixed-bed platforming process units” to the Lanaz refinery in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI). The upgrades will enable Lanaz to produce high-quality gasoline.
Laura Leonard, Vice President of UOP Process Technologies says that construction and installation costs are expected to be 20% less than comparable systems. She adds that the use of UOP modular technology means that “Lanaz can start operations between a year and 18 months faster than the traditional field-fabricated model, and quickly produce high-quality gasoline to meet growing demand.” (CONTINUED - 646 WORDS)
