Pasargad Energy Development Company (PEDC) inaugurated Iran’s first ever super-heavy refinery at Qeshm Island on 15 January. The first phase of the project has a crude processing capacity of 35,000 b/d, and Iran has now broken ground on construction of a second phase to take overall capacity to 100,000 b/d.
The primary product of the first phase of the Pars Bihan Qeshm refinery will be bitumen (BPG: 40/50, 60/70 & 85/100), with up to 5,700 b/d of 35° API light oil as a by-product. (CONTINUED - 719 WORDS)
