*Latest Chinese import data for December show that the Middle Kingdom paid an average of $19.5/mn BTU for its LNG imports, the third consecutive monthly record (see chart and MEES, 21 January for full data). Average Chinese import prices of $11.1/mn BTU for 2021 were a seven-year high.
