Libya’s gas exports to Italy have picked up in January after an outage at a gas field in December had a knock-on effect on supplies (MEES, 24 December). Libya’s gas exports through the 775mn cfd Greenstream pipeline – its sole export outlet – rose to 265mn cfd for the first 26 days of January, up from 237mn cfd in December.
Supplies had fallen to as low as 75mn cfd on 22 December after an armed group forced the closure of the Mellitah Oil & Gas (Eni 50%, NOC 50%)-operated Wafa wet gas field. Mellitah’s 1.1bn cfd capacity offshore Bahr Essalam project also feeds Greenstream – this remained online during Wafa’s shutdown. (CONTINUED - 343 WORDS)
