Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC) said this week that it plans to start production from its 16,000 b/d Erawin development in mid-2023. While targeted production volumes are modest, the project represents a key step in Libya’s efforts to develop previously discovered fields.
Erawin is operated by NOC subsidiary Zallaf Oil Company which awarded UK firm Petrofac a $100mn EPC contract for the project last year (MEES, 10 September). Zallaf was set up in 2013 to develop discoveries abandoned by IOCs (MEES, September 2019). (CONTINUED - 123 WORDS)
