Libya’s Tripoli-based government on 3 October signed an MoU with Turkey aimed at boosting cooperation in the field of hydrocarbons, leading to a rebuke from Greece, Egypt and Cyprus who fear it could lead to exploration and development activities in disputed maritime areas.
A leaked copy of the MoU says Libya’s National Oil Corporation will invite Turkish state firm TPAO to participate in onshore and offshore projects in Libya.
